The most powerful actions are those you do daily....

Understand why the word "reinvention" is constantly associated with Madonna. Madonna is known for continuously reinventing both her music and image, and for retaining a standard of autonomy within the recording industry. She attained immense popularity by pushing the boundaries of lyrical content in mainstream popular music and imagery in her music videos, which became a fixture on MTV. Critics have praised her diverse musical productions which have also been known to induce controversy.
It is why she remained so dominant for more than two decades in the ruthless music industry. A business owner sees the need for constant reinvention in order to stay ahead of the competition.
Reinvention is a good thing, it powers you to personal growth.
"We must be willing to get rid of the life we've planned, so as to have the life that is waiting for us. The old skin has to be shed before the new one can come." -Joseph Campbell.
One day, in my mid-twenties, I woke up and realized I was living someone else's life. I didn't like what I was doing and I knew I needed to make a change. I had a faint idea of what that change was supposed to be--I had a fuzzy picture of the person I wanted to become.
Unfortunately, I had no idea how to make it happen. I had no idea how to jump-start and fuel the reinvention to transform myself into the person I pictured in my mind. If you've ever been in a situation like this, you never forget the amount of frustration and even anger you walk around with. It's a ton of energy bottled up inside your gut. It's enough to make you crazy.
What follows is the story of how I discovered the way through... of how I reinvented myself, from the outside in.
You could say I wasn't comfortable in my own life at the time. I clearly believed that I was living on what was pretty much the only NON-green patch of grass in the universe. Had I taken a step in any direction, the grass would have been greener. Back then, I was a musician. And for some reason, all I could dream about was becoming a business person. I didn't even really understand what that meant. But I knew what it looked like. Or at least I thought I did.
Every weekend, my wife-to-be and I would travel to a local coffee shop where I'd see business people from Xerox and other big companies reading the paper. I worked on the weekends and they relaxed on the weekends. That was enough to get me interested in their lifestyle. I'd see them reading business articles, working on their laptops, surrounded by papers and important looking things.
I also ventured a guess that their prospects for making money were far better than mine. I knew that I wanted to "reinvent" myself, but I had no clue about how that was supposed to happen. At the time, I had no concept of the word reinvention, I just knew that deep down, I wanted to be something I currently wasn't. I had a few things working against me and my desire to get into the world of business.
The environment I grew up in was pretty clear about its view of successful business people. They were greedy, selfish and bad. Money was evil, business people were worse.
Oh, and they all took advantage of other poor disadvantaged souls in order to create their success. I was definitely at a distinct disadvantage for getting a business career off the ground. But then I got an internship with a salesman from AT&T. Over the few years I worked with him, I learned a lot.
I wasn't a "business man" by any stretch of the imagination, but I was working in business.
I had no clue how to sell anything, and yet I was working with a salesman who depended on that skill to eat and care for his family.
I had zero formal qualifications for being in meetings with customers or working on accounts in the back office. And yet, there I was, doing those very things.
Eventually I started designing websites, which led to marketing, copy writing and the incredible business world of information marketing. The process took years. But now that I'm able to look back, I can actually see how it all unfolded pretty clearly.
As it turns out, I've discovered that problems are often far simpler than my mind makes them out to be.
Here's a quick example: Want to be a writer? Should you go to writing school, get a creative writing degree, or perhaps apply for some internship program somewhere? That's often the path your mind goes down when faced with a challenge. Your mind needs to feel needed. And so it takes you on some longwinded journey that requires it be involved with each step of the journey. It makes work for itself (and you) so it can feed its ego.
But if you really want to become a writer, then how about you just sit down and start writing? Instant writer. You reinvent yourself from the outside in. And thinking about it that way really cuts to the heart of the matter: your reinvention will commence as a response to the actions you take. So why not just start there... with the actions? The most powerful actions are those you do daily.
Can you think of an action you could do daily? Something that's done by those you are wishing to be like? There is a huge amount of power in actions you repeat on a daily basis. Those daily actions, while new at the beginning, quickly disappear into the fabric of what you consider normal life.
Days go by... weeks go by. That's when beautiful things happen.
You wake up one day and realize that your "reinvention" is much farther along than you imagined. One day I was a classical musician, soon after I became a business person. The core of who I am changed. But it didn't change from the inside out, it happened from the outside in.
I've discovered that there is nothing magical about the process of reinventionIt is simply the product of real work.
Again, daily work is best. There is no reason to wait.
This is your life that is ticking by--moment by moment.
Once this moment is gone, it is not coming back.
Want to be someone you're not?
Then be that today.
Do the work, rinse and repeat, and you'll blow by everyone else in no time.

What a post Master !

Was about to say , my attempt @ RE-INVENTION as a TA / Trader found strength from ur guidance on JN .

Have completed 2 yrs of attendance @ ur class, that w.o much bunking . For an Attention Deficient / perennial back-bench sort like me, that says a lot about the Quality of ur Teachings & ur insights :-)

JN has helped many many wayward traders FIND THEMSELVES. My journey from MIND-MADNESS & trying to NUKE THE PANTS OFF the market, to converting into a SYSTEM FOLLOWER and DISCIPLINED FOLLOWER is nothing short of a miracle.

You show us everyday the SIMPLICITY & POWER of "SEEING" PRICE ..

And ur weekend posts are the BEST, spreading the gift of SPIRITUAL ENLIGHTENMENT. Every Saturday, we read ur Posts & shed the Dust of EGO that we accumulate thru the week.

Thank u Master, u have helped us EXPLORE & RE-Invent our selves like no other :-)

VERY NICE INDEED.reinvention may have to b done frequently..REINVENTION COMES AS A RESPONSE TO THE ACTIONS YU TAKE--cud b th product of actions--wt i recently thought is -GOALS SHUD shape thoughts.....thoughts may nt shape goals because thoughts are too volatile ..on other hand goal yu can fix n clearly visualise,,then we can nurture th thoughts related to tht GOAL..ANY WAY if you reinvent yourselves need nt worry abt WHO MOVED YOUR CHEESE?..GOOD DAY

businessline on nifty

Nifty (6,259.9)

The Nifty’s move above 6,200 has made the short-term trend positive for the index. Since the index has already retraced about a third of the upmove from the low of 5,118, the movement in the next few weeks can unfold thus:

The Nifty can move to the previous peak of 6,342 and then wobble slightly. There will then be a pull-back to 6,000 or even 5,850. In other words, the index can spend some time in the range of 5,880 and 6,350 before breaking higher.

If the index manages to move beyond 6,342 in the coming weeks, it can then go on to 6,709 over the medium term.

Medium-term view will stay positive as long as the index trades above 5,880. Subsequent supports are 5,735 and 5,591.

In the week ahead, there is high probability of the index declining to 6,180 or 6,103. Traders can buy in declines as long as the index trades above the second support. Strong resistance will be at 6,342 and 6,357. Targets on move above 6,357 are 6,406 and 6,565.

@Shriram and Durga...I Second ur thots....

The only reality in this Universe is change. Everything changes and the only appropriate response to this change is reinvention.

A part of the credit to the reinvention of my trading strategies and systems goes to Ilango's blog and that was five years ago. Game changer!!!

The weekend gems have the power to catalyze oneself into a truly good human being and one keeps trying to be one....:):).

Thx Ilango and God bless....

one of the reason why the ruling party suffered such a big defeat is high prices. would they now not use everything at their command to check inflation and price rise. maybe they take some steps which are strict and strong to check the inflation and in the process not bother about the market's response. they may take some people friendly steps that prove to be anti market.

finally delhi verdict is not that clear and therefore if the presumption is that there could be a hung verdict in 2014, how would market take it ?

moreover market already saluted the modi factor and possibly factored in this victory fairly well. so in such circumstances why the market should go into frenzy tomorrow ?

a big gap up is most likely tomorow with 300-400 points up.
