RV9 - Noted.Thanks. My query rose due to the fact that option bought for Rs 10 for a script trading at 700 falls below Rs 10 even if the script goes above 700 after couple of sessions. Is it the Time Decay that I understood and expressed?

I wil try to put more EOD, after the thread expires, so that others will not be disturbed or distracted.
Mainly I put it to dilute the arguements between people... like putting a broad wedge between their posts. To cool off the situation.

It was a long call - Buy @ 9165 and sell @ 9225.
As BN is in uptrend, I have not given a sell call.
I may not be present most of the time due to other personal commitments. Always have your trading plan ready before taking the plunge.
Also notice in the table, I have given only a SL for the long.
Take your profits. I will state when the coast is clear for a good sell.

You have understood the most important as well as the most basic of Options. Many use this "Time decay" to their advantage once a scrip is "OB" & stretched with trend remaining firm but a likely sideways consolidation.
Everyday around 2.30PM onwards this time decay gets impacted into the prices.
Your earlier wish of "Options trading" in a laymen's language is due. I will work on it.
Thanks RV9. One day TMF gave almost double return on call and when I tried holding next time, it evoporated. My RM couldn't explain. Then I understood the Time Factor.(Still people do treat Call as a script to raise with time - right?). I am confused in it.

You are good at 'scalping' people(sorry, prices).leave options for some time and study their movements in particular scripts you are interested(u must be doing that already)EOD.each has its own IV and other associated factors.then come prepared with a plan ,preferably hedged to 'slaughter' options(no need to 'scalp 'them ,they themselves are dying due to your 'time decay')

@rv great learning frm ur option posts today. thats y i call u rv sir. u wrote that each stock has different iv charecteristics so we need to study them. can one imply that study and trade of options shud ideally start frm nifty bcos it will be much simpler

5200 CE Buy qty is now reduced to 388600 from 469000, when I posted sometime back on the blog.
So my point of CE buyers driving up price has been proven.
Now as you can see they are squaring off.
My decision to initiate a sell was when I saw price rejected at POC ( recorded on the blog). I had also made a mention on the blog about closing longs from morning or keeping SL at 4242.

just a small clarification-stocks donot have different IV ,its the options we trade in that have them ,which keeps on changing depending on stock and market conditions.
trade only the scripts which have options that are traded in volumes/liquid,so that u get good entry prices and dont get stuck while selling
