The little girl lived in a small, very simple, poor house on a hill and as she grew she would play in the small garden and as she grew she was able to see over the garden fence and across the valley to a wonderful house high on the hill – and this house had golden windows, so golden and shining that the little girl would dream of how magic it would be to grow up and live in a house with golden windows instead of an ordinary house like hers.
And although she loved her parents and her family, she yearned to live in such a golden house and dreamed all day about how wonderful and exciting it must feel to live there. When she got to an age where she gained enough skill and sensibility to go outside her garden fence, she asked her mother if she could go for a bike ride outside the gate and down the lane. After pleading with her, her mother finally allowed her to go, insisting that she kept close to the house and didn’t wander too far. The day was beautiful and the little girl knew exactly where she was heading! Down the lane and across the valley, she rode her bike until she got to the gate of the golden house across on the other hill.
As she dismounted her bike and lent it against the gate post, she focused on the path that lead to the house and then on the house itself…and was so disappointed as she realized all the windows were plain and rather dirty, reflecting nothing other than the sad neglect of the house that stood derelict.
So sad she didn’t go any further and turned, heart broken as she remounted her bike … she glanced up she saw a sight to amaze her…there across the way on her side of the valley was a little house and its windows glistened golden …as the sun shone on her little home. She realized that she had been living in her golden house and all the love and care she found there was what made her home the ‘golden house’. Everything she dreamed was right there in front of her nose!

Namaste Ilango Sir.
I visited this blog at 6 am and at 7 am. This week end post was not ready. I was unusually busy throughout the day. Only now I could read this refreshing post.
Thanks and regards.

Superb as usual sir eye opening like as usual master.
@ AshishAg,
It is a wrong example.
You can have two or more trading methods properly integrated & give weightage to one of them as the situation demands.
We are not chasing two rabbits but only one - Nifty.
"Sukhaniji" uses EW sometimes besides his regular technical analysis. He may be using fundamental analysis and talks about "news events" affecting the markets, etc. That is too many tools.
Tools are never the problem. It is the "judicious use" of such tools is the challenging part.
Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;
Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,
And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.
I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

@Sradha,
It's a very famous poem by Robert Frost, one of my eternal favorites.
Dear Master, it is true that we need to use a certain number of tools to judge various aspects of a script, but I believe that we must stick to at least one (or maximum two) tool/s to make a decision. Therefore it is not chasing two rabbits. However, I would like to request all good friends here to kindly suggest something for opening gaps. Recently gaps have become a regular thing and quite difficult to manage.
Thanks and regards
Hi..Parimal,
Would you go to a doctor who just checks your pulse or check everything to get the "best treatment".
Don't you think medical field has been discovering/ inventing newer tools to carry out diagnosis of ever evolving diseases.
Sab ko darraakke rakkha hain.. But go into the big trader's trading room, they have everything.
If you want 5%(i.e. 60% PA) on your capital(On two lots Nifty-60,000 = 5%= 3000 = 60 piddly points..!!), then just stick to one method(I suggest macd). And close the screen for the rest of the month.
The choice is yours.
I know some doctors who use limited tools and still take care of their patients' health as good as the sophisticated hi-tech hospitals.
I personally would not step into a hi-tech hospital, not because aversion to technology but because of its misuse. Scan/ x-ray/ lab test when it is absolutely essential...and so on.
So too..market's tools...use them when they are absolutely essential.. not for simple strains & sprains & gas troubles.
But talking ill of tools is "IGNORANCE".
AAdath theriyaada thevadiya theru kkonalnu sonnaallaam...!!!
(One who does not know how to dance complains of the uneven surface of the stage/ street)
If you want to be a specialist, then know it all and start discarding the ones that are dupicating...the ones that are less effective and arrive at the ones that you are comfortable in dealing with everyday. Test them. Get thorough with them. Become "super efficient" that even its inventor/ discoverer should feel envy of your efficiency. And then the money that it generates for you every day will affirm to you that you are on the right path. Yes.. It is the money that a tool can generate for you will be the ultimate validation that "You have finally learnt the art of using that tool/ system/ method".
Great explanation Ilango ji...thru ultimate validation, experience " the power of less". Your last para is essentially what you had posted few weeks ago on ' power of less' by Leo Babuta.
Ilango Sir ,
How is macd Slingshot different from macd divergence ?
I read about macd slingshot in one of the pdf(s) by
Jeffrey Kennedy.
But what I understood is , when Macd Slingshot is suggesting bullish
scenario , macd divergence suggestes -ve divergence .
both are just opposite.
kindly throw some light on this when ever you have time.

@ Fire - huh..eternal favourites??? for me "mothertongue itself is difficult" :P :P poor lady. golod to know u r "specialist in english" :D

@ Parimal - Nothing to worry.."everything will come by experience" one fine day u will also achieve that. all the best.keep faith in you and try to "grasp the price movements"
very inspiring as usual........thanks a ton ilango ji.
btw here is Via SMS: 10 years ago America had steve jobs, Johny Cash, Bob Hope and now America has NO jobs NO cash NO hope
@ Smita,
Jeffrey Kennedy is running business and he has to keep inventing new "stuff" to keep his customers glued to him.
Look at the simple "Hour slow macd" from our charts and see how many valid signals it has given along with another simple tool of "Trendlines". Check the same from "JustNifty TA" file.
New generation may want something new... Jeffrey may be catering to that aspersions..
I still say this: If a trader can not make money from simple tools, what will he/ she do with more advanced ones. If you have become proficient with the simpler tools and want to improve your performance more, you may then look for certain "advanced tools".
Just as the story's core theme is..."Your method, the one with which you're quite familiar with is definitely a lot useful to you than all the other so called "Golden methods". When you get closer to them, you may realise that what you have been having is a lot more easy & quite useful.
The issue here is one of "Perception".
Thank you sir for spending your holiday time too :)
Personal opinion - It is no point analysing world markets of so & so or our's. Just blindly follow the trendand levels will give good returns in simple way mkt supporting stories will be
planted to restrict the fall and vice versa for downmove. Apart from this 4725-50 level is important 3 valid points. so below that is -ve above that is +ve upto 5035 (lakshman reka) crossover may take to 5170. Tech table will give us clue earlier.
Ilango sir many thanks for your constant guidance and your time .
