As per pre-mkt view and my understanding, this B wave may not go down bellow 4850 after which C wave will unfold. Now is it safe to go long intra aroung 4850 with SL bellow 4840 for a target of about 4900. please comment.

It is definitely not safe when Day trend is in firm downtrend.
However, the long trade at this point should be treated as a Bounce only till takes out 4885.Trade with strict SL.

You must keep 4885 (4875NF)as a SL and trail this short trade to protect profits.(The correct SL should be a close above 5-ema.) 4805-4835 has given earlier supports. If it does not hold, deeper falls.

"4805-4835" minor support - the average spot comes @ 4820. If Nifty comes closer to that area, an intra long may be attempted with a SL 4795.
"4860" is the S2 for the day. But I am not comfortable here.
